Police says no arrests have been made yet concerning the murder of Nyeko Christopher, a staff of Gulu University who was a laboratory technician at the University health department.
Nyeko was murdered on the 22nd of last month from Forest cell, Pece prisons ward, Laroo-Pece division in Gulu City after meeting gangs near St Peter’s catholic church.
David Ongom Mudong, the police Police Spokesperson for Aswa West says they are still analyzing the camera footages in order to determine the truth of the matter.
Mudong says they got external support in terms of intelligence and forensics analysis of the scene of crime.
He adds that the external support is giving police good clues that will help in the arrest of the culprits very soon.
Mudong however calls for calm from the family and friends of Nyeko as police continues doing their part to ensure that justice prevails.
He says Police has learnt that crimes are being conducted by organized criminals who have a component of counter intelligence hence monitoring police patrols and deployments.
