Peter Banya, the Gulu Resident City Commissioner in charge Laroo-Pece Division has urged cattle restocking beneficiaries against diverting funds.
This comes as several households in Gulu city and other districts started receiving cattle restocking funds from government.
By Wednesday, 46 out of 640 households in Gulu city had received the 5 million shillings on their phones.
Beneficiaries are expected to purchase three heifers and two oxen at 1 million shillings each.
But there are fears that some beneficiaries may divert the funds to other uses such as school fees among others.
Banya however says they want to see that beneficiaries purchase the animals which are intended to improve their livelihoods.
He advises beneficiaries to visit nearby cattle markets to purchase the animals.
A total of 80 billion shillings was earmarked by Government for the restocking program in Acholi, Lango and Teso sub regions to help communities recover from historical insurgencies and cattle raids.
